V.M. GOLDSCHMIDT 2012 CONFERENCEsubmit

The V.M. Goldschmidt 2012 Conference will be held at the Palais des Congrès in Montréal, June 24-29, 2012, with a focus on the Earth in Evolution. A total of 167 sessions are being hosted or co-hosted within the 23 themes ranging from the Evolution of the Solar System to Geomicrobiology, and from Earth Resources to Geoengineering & Remediation (listed below).

Abstract submission to Goldschmidt 2012 ends on February 1st, 2012 at 23:59 EST. Abstracts will only be considered for inclusion in the 2012 V.M. Goldschmidt science program if full abstract submission fees are paid. Submission of an abstract implies that the authors are committed to attending the meeting and presenting the work.

All abstracts submitted will be reviewed by the Goldschmidt 2012 Scientific Committee. Authors will be notified of acceptance and assignment (session, oral/poster) by March 10th, 2012. Accepted abstracts will only be published if the first (presenting) author registers and pays the registration fees by the early registration deadline (April 20, 2012).

The Goldschmidt2012 Travel GrantsTravel Grants

The Goldschmidt Travel Grant program annually provides funding to delegates attending the Goldschmidt Conference. The amount and terms of funding vary from year to year so please read the information on our web site, even if you have applied and received funding in the past.

The purpose of the Goldschmidt2012 Travel Grant Program is to provide financial support to qualified students who are presenting their research at the 2012 V.M. Goldschmidt Conference in Montreal, Canada. If financial support is available, the program may also provide financial support to qualified delegates from low-economy countries (see list of qualifying countries on the link above).

The student committee is currently putting the final touch to the student activities program. Pub crawls and food tasting tours, a BBQ evening followed by a night out at the Jazz Festival, guided scientific tours on Mont-Royal, short courses and a job fair are on the program, in addition to the student oral and poster presentation awards competition. A lot more will also be going on at the lounge . Stop by to meet research scientists, to get information on the City of Montreal, or to sit and relax with your peers!

THANK YOU! NEWS FROM THE 2011 AGU FALL MEETING IN SAN FRANCISCO

Several hundred visitors stopped by our Geochemical Society and Goldschmidt 2012 booth during the AGU conference in San Francisco between December 5-9, 2011. Thank you! We answered a lot of questions on the conference and the city of Montreal, and handed out several raffle prizes: a Registration Voucher for Goldschmidt 2012, and nine gift certificates for free nights or hotel room upgrades at one of the major hotels around the convention center.
